LUNAR MARIA
I orbit you like some pale moon covered with craters. Trying to shake this gravitational pull but I'm attached at the navel, strange umbilical connection. Your voice echoes across my surface like the shadow of a sun. Abandoned satellite turning on its axis, synchronous rotation. Just one of many celestial bodies you have forgotten. © Sophia Argyris From her forthcoming collection: 'How Do the Parakeets Stay Green?', Indigo Dreams Publishing Ltd, June 2014 |
